i just got a real good deal on a commercial snapper riding mower that needed some rear end work done on it. otherwise the engine and mower are in excellent shape. i need to get a repair/maintenance manual for the mower and the briggs&stratton ohv engine. i do not want one of the generic/ all mower manuals that clymer sells!! i want one that is specific for my mower!! any help????????????thanks!!!!!!

I have 657 John Deere Quik Track Mower for commercial use. It is a 23 hp Kawasaki engine. It is blowing blackish smoke from the muffler and has lost 50% power. The air filter is clean. Someone please tell me how to repair this and prevent it from recurring

sounds like either the choke is stuck on, or the carbs are dirty and need to be cleaned or rebuilt. First thing i would do is trace the choke cable back and make sure that it is in the off position. After that start looking at the carbs, i am not very good with them but you can try to adjust the screws on it. Just remeber how much you turn if from when you started so you can put it back if it doesn't help.

Last thing i would try is get a can of carb cleaner. take the carb off the mower and spray it out. Let it dry good and put it in and see what happens. Otherwise i would bring it in to a small engine shop.
