Mowed (tiny) lawn 6 times with brand new key start Craftsman mower.

Stalled while mowing and wouldn't restart.

Sears wants to charge me to clean the carb.

Why would a carb be dirty on a mower that has run a total of 3 hours?
I just bought it from Sears. Used it once a week for 6 weeks.

if you are using the same gas that you had 6 weeks ago empty the tank and allow it to dry out and put new (FRESH) gas in and try it again. if you have bad gas in the carb right now it may be hard to start at first when you put new gas in but should run right after you get it going again.

I am interested in finding a lawn mower repair service that will come to your house, but I have not been able to locate one in the Yellowpages or Google. Please help!

Why not just call ANY lawnmower repair shop and ask them who does this? Maybe one of their guys wants a side job. Or, try a small engine repair place. Maybe they know.

Mower repair shop took my mower for repair. It has been almost two months for a simple 30 min repair but every time I call they say they are bringing it back this week but they never show. What can I do.

Something doesn't sound right here.
I'd first go to the repair shop and ask to see your mower. At this point you don't even know if he has it. He may have sold it by mistake or something.
If they do have your mower then you can arrange a date and time for it to be delivered.
If its not there then you can work out some way for them to replace it or take them to small claims court. I'd ask for more than the mower is worth because of your time and being without your mower. If you had to have someone else mow your grass for you take your receipts and add them to your claim.

If I just keep riding it till it dies and then waiting and starting it again- then maybe it will unclog???

Does it run well for a few minutes, then dies till it cools down? a bad coil then..... but if it cuts off after a few seconds and shuts back down.... no, running it around till it cuts off a few times won't.... first thing to do, take the fuel line off at the carb while clamping it with needle noses.... let it go real quick to see if its getting good fuel flow, reinstall it. If its not flowing good, clogged fuel line, clogged fuel filter, or vent cap on the gas can isn't venting. If it is flowing good, it sounds like a clogged main jet, take the fuel bowl off (make sure the fuel is shut off) take a can of carb cleaner, clean any and all holes you see, theres the main one right up that hole the fuel bowl nut screws into, make sure the float and all isn't hanging up, reinstall and try..... this MAY get it going... otherwise.... no gas treatments or nothing like thats going to fix it, it's gotta be soaked in a bath type carb cleaner while in peices. Blown out with carb cleaner and compressed air to be sure, and put back together.
