My flywheel on my dynamark lawn mower keeps breaking?

What exactally do you mean 'breaking' - like the fins break off, or its a new flywheel each time. Think of the flywheel as a balancer/alternator - the flywheel is part of the unit that makes spark to run the tractor, it also balances the motor. If bits are breaking off a single flywheel, remove it and get another one. Theyre made of cast iron, it'll keep breaking till it shatters and carves its way thru the flywheel shoud and possibly into a body part. Dont keep running it like that, if you value breathing.

need help to start a dynamark lawn mower?

had put in a new battery

You don't provide much information. Does the engine turn over and not start, does it not turn over? There are several things that will prevent it from starting but we need more information.

Racing Lawn Mower, Pully causing issues.?

I have a Dynamark Lawn Mower that i am modifying to make it fast. Not planning to race it anywhere, just a small engine project at school and something to mess around with. Im stuck with pulling off the front pully. I do not really know how to pull that one off. I pulled the back on off with my hands but the front one is causing me an issue. any ideas? i tried using a puller but i dont think its the right kind and i dont know how well it will really work. Just looking for some suggestions.

While im asking a question, any cheap and easy fixes to strengthen the front end so i dont have to worry about it flying about going 50? All serious answers would be greatly appreciated.

Thankz!
I would like to provide you with more details, but i do not know too many details myself. I just got this mower from my girlfriends dad randomly and do not know anything

The front pulley has a bolt in the end of the pulley. Remove it with a socket and ratchet. You can make the tractor more stable my limiting the travel of the front axle at the pivot point where the axle is bolted to the frame. A smaller pulley at the transmission will make it faster.

Attn: Small Engine Experts!!!How can I increase the throttle on a throttless mower?....?

...I have a Dynamark push lawn mower (Made by Murray, I THINK!) with a 4.75 hp briggs & Stratton engine-it has no throttle, and is set so low it barely keeps from stalling even in short grass. To you small engine experts out there-how do I increase the rpms, or increase throttle speed?? Note- there are no wires or lines of any kind that appear to go to the carb- the only wire cable is the cut off one (For if you let go of the handle, the mowere stops automatically!) HELP!!!

It has a governor that keeps the engine running at the designed speed. Do not adjust it unless you know what you're doing! If it's set correctly, and you turn it up, it'll run the engine faster than it's designed to run, which will wear it out very quickly. The governors are very reliable and it's not likely it's working incorrectly unless it's been damaged in some way.

Are you sure it's not running fast enough? Is it possible that it's running at the correct speed, but slowing down as soon as the blade hits some grass, as if it has no power? If that's the case, your blade is dull as a table knife (duller, actually).

They have to be sharpened at least occasionally. You can take it to a shop and have them do it, or you can do it yourself with a small file or an angle grinder. If you do it yourself, REMOVE THE SPARK PLUG CABLE before you get near the blade so it can't start when the blade moves.

What would cause my lawn mower to squirt gasoline out of the exhaust when I try to start it?

I have a Dynamark 8008 push mower with a 5.0 HP Tecumseh engine. It ran normally last week.

Then today, I couldn't get it started. Instead, a little gasoline would spurt out of the exhaust each time that I pulled the starting cable.

What's likely wrong with the mower? What could have caused it, and what should I do now?
Nathan jogged my memory about something. When I was mowing last week, I got too close to a piece of hard landscaping plastic that surrounds a tree.

The blade hit it, and the mower stopped running immediately. I took a look underneath and didn't see any visible damage, so I started it again and finished the rest of the lawn.

Could that still be the cause of today's problem, even though the mower ran fine afterwards last week?

I agree with car dude, but there is an alternate possibility. If you hit a stump or other hard object it is possible to knock the timing completely off. This type of engine doesn't have a distributor like a car. The timing is controled by a contact on the flywheel. High end lawn mowers have a clutch to control this, but less expensive ones don't.

It is likely you messed up the timing slightly. When the engine was hot it would still restart. I will probobly start now with an aerosol starter fluid, but it won't run efficiently.

You will need to take it to a small engine mechanic.
