it's ether 1/4 inch or 5/16 inch standard fuel line hose you can buy at the auto parts store it's not the high pressure hose just the standard fuel line hose it's sold by the foot

I have a lawn mower I picked up on the side of the road for free. Looks like its almost brand new and they said it ran but I'm afraid to start it with no blade installed. Could it possibly damage the engine if I did?
Hmm, no, you probably can't hurt it. You probably won't be able to get it running at all. The flywheel on push mowers is just aluminum, they use the blade to provide the inertia to keep the motor spinning on the compression stroke. An engine that is designed to run no-load will have a cast iron flywheel, to provide inertia.

I have this old lawn mower and I am looking to use the engine for a go kart. It is the "Snapper big six" 6HP engine for a walk-behind mower by briggs and stratton. I am looking for a site where I can go to get the basics down about this mower and hopefully read a diagram about all the parts not only of the engine but of the parts of the mower too. Can anyone find a page where I can learn this? Any other tips about making go-karts!? Thank you!

I want to use a riding lawn mower engine and trans to power my new go-kart. The go kart will be used mainly to pull boat trailers, so I need some torque out of this engine, but I would also like to have a cruising gear. Any suggestions?

Each year in spring I have made it a habit to prepare all of my garden tools for the spring and summer seasons. This includes the lawn mower, chainsaw, weed wacker and hedge clippers. Since we have almost three quarters of an acre, which is fully landscaped, there is quite a bit of maintenance that I try to do on my own. That means between visits by the gardener I can help keep things up by trimming, pruning and mowing.
The front of our property has several azalea bushes which I don’t trim for the most part. They don’t get too out of control and I don’t want to inhibit any of their beautiful spring flowers. The hedges on the sides of the property are a different story. I can’t quite get them to look as they do after the gardener trims them, but I make the effort. Most of the property is, of course, a pretty well manicured lawn.
