nope ,,,as long as both batteries are 12 volt. ppos to pos and nrg to neg. Let the car idle fot 1/2 hour and the batt will be charged.

What is the possibilities. I just dread loading this thing up on a truck to take it to be fixed. Its about 10 yrs old. Should I just trash it? I bought it at a garage sell 2 yrs ago and it hasnt ran since the end of the 1st summer we bought it.
Try draining the oil and put in new oil. Change the plug and put in new gas. If it set this long the oil and gas is probably no good. Also clean the fuel filter and air filter, hope this helps you. There is nothing worse than a mower that wont start.

Is gas getting through the filter? It may be clogged. Loosen or remove the fuel line from the carb. and see if it is running through the line. If not, there is a stopped up line or possibily trash has gotten in the tank and is covering the opening where the line hooks on. Another idea is to get a can of starting fluid and spray a short burst ( 2 to 3 seconds max ) in the air filter intake and see if it will start and keep running.
my dad has a L130 John Deer Riding Lawn Mower. it currently started to present problems when mowing. it does fine when going straight... but... when you turn to go up a hill, it is having problems pulling itself and even stops. the belt is brand new. any suggestions? it is also well kept and never been rained on.

The mower deck belt goes around the motor shaft back to the blade(s) pulley(s) with the tension-er on the side, make sure it is in disengage so you have enough slake, there are guide pins that you need to slip the belt into. The tension pulley is usually on the bake side(spring loaded) of the belt. it has a guide pin also, so When engaging the handle it is spring loaded, and puts tension on all pulleys. sometimes they put a diagram of this under the hood. You could probably find one on the web somewhere.
