Can I use a rear bagger lawn mower to pick up leaves?
063

Instead of purchasing a separate piece of lawn equipment such as a leaf vac can I use a lawn mower with a bagger attached to clean the leaves from my yard? I do get a lot of leaves as we live on a wooded lot. We are tired of raking!

You can, and sometimes I do. But don't throw the leaves away - they're great for the yard. I would recommend that you just mow with the mulching blade on the mower - mow twice a week if need be. Or bag the leaves as you mow and put the chopped leaves in a composting pile. Leaves are a great source of organic matter for the yard, and you don't have to pay for them, truck them in, or even distribute them, like you would with commercial material. Many landscape companies collect leaves from the curbside and use them to make leaf-mold.

Troy Built Lawn Mower?

My husband has a 2000 Troy Built Lawn Mower and is looking for a bagger for it. He has went to the website, but no luck. He is hoping to get a bagger number. Anyway, the Model # is 13AQ609G063, if anyone knows where to find one or can specifically help. Thanks!

Most baggers are universal anyway- any home improvement store would carry them. Be prepared to spend around $300-500 for one tho.
It shouldnt be difficult to hook up either, a frame bolts to the back of the tractor chassis, the bagger hood and bags hang from this , while the shute hooks to the deck with a small bungee cord, somtimes this lil tab attached to the deck might need to be welded or screwed on- depends on the kit.

Is my Lawn mower a two stroke or 4?

I have a used craftsman eagle-1, 4.0, 20 inch blade rear bagger I just bought at a swap meet and I assume it was a 4 stroke but then I over thought it, so here we are at the question? lol I just want to make sure before I gas it up! Thanks ahead!
oh yea! duh! thanks!!! It has separate oil reservoir, thus I should of known the answer!(my brains out of order today) Thanks guys (n girls) for the answers! its a four! (its an older model thats what initially got me wondering)

One easy way to tell is to look if it has a place for you to put oil in. Four stroke engines take oil in the crank case so if you have a place to fill it with oil it is a 4 stroke. Two stroke engines, on the other hand, us a gas/oil mixture. If there is not place to put oil in the crank case it is a two stroke engine.

Lawn/Leaf Vacuum Rider. Not a mower. Not a Pull Behind. Is there such a thing?

I'm looking to find a lawn vacuum to suck up leaves. I'm not looking for a mower, pull behind vacuum, or one of those small push around vacuums. I'm interested in a riding system that can sweep and vacuum up leaves and debris. Something like a stadium vac. Good for when after the grass has been mowed already but the leaves fall onto it, well I don't want to mow over the mowed grass again, I just want to "clean" it up. Something you would ride around on in your yard, so not a gigantuous piece of equipment. Not a pull behind or grass bagger system you find on your typical riding mowers. Is there such an animal?

Yes they make ride on leaf vacuams and also portable backpack ones..heres some links

Can I use my lawn mower to mulch leafs?

Yes, you can use your lawn mower to mulch leafs and a good mulching lawn mower makes a great addition to anyone who is trying to perform a fall clean up on their yard. One thing you will want to be careful to do, if you want to take the leafs off of the yard for good, is to use the bag.

By using your lawn mower to bag and mulch the debris on your yard you will be able to reduce the amount of time needed to rake the yard and increase the amount of time you have to work on other things. In addition to having a good mulching lawn mower, such as a Toro Personal Pace or any of the Honda mower over $300, you may also consider purchasing a Stihl backpack leaf blower. A backpack leaf blower will allow you to be able to quickly blow out debris from out under trees, flower beds, and other areas that are hard to get with a leaf blow. With most backpack leaf blowers, such as Echo and Stihl , you will need to be careful not to use too much throttle on it because using too mulch throttle can cause mulch and even plants to come up if you’re not careful.

I think GeedingManor was magically transported to Seattle this weekend – it never stopped raining. Speaking of GeedingManor, we bought some new carpet at Lowe’s over the weekend.  They have a special that if you bought Stainmaster carpet you can have it installed in the whole house for $39, but we went with a cheaper non-Stainmaster carpet and the install is going to cost us $139, which I still don’t think is that bad of a deal.  But I noticed the existing carpet in our living room needs stretched, and asked since they were going to be installing new carpet and have all the necessary tools here if they could just go ahead and do the living room carpet stretch when they...
