It is a old push mower. Gas. can i make it smell like new or like it
You can skip the cleaners and take it to the car wash and high pressure clean it. May not be just like new but it will be sparkling clean. Use the tire scrub brush thing that are at a lot of car washes and scrub where needed.

My Tractor is a John Deere and I'm talking about the engine cleaner you would put in a car gas tank. You know to clean Valves and such. Can I add the same stuff to my tractor? Just wondered.
Would go to the John Deere website and see what they recommend. I tried an internal engine cleaner in two lawnmower engines and both locked up on me. They were both smoking bad so thought that might help them. Could have been coincidence but have not done it since.
P.S. - Where is the carborator on a lawn mower?
Look for a large flat cover with a single screw above it. This is the air cover.
Sorry the back side of the blade is not shape. It is flat one side of each end of the blade is sharpened. Yes it is the way the mower picks up the grass as you pull it backwards. If it has been awhile you might want to get them sharpened. But I would not worry about it. Sharpen them once or twice a year, depends on how much you mow.
I have a Yard-Man self-propelled lawn mower with a 6.5 hp Briggs & Stratton engine. Had problems starting it - changed the oil, spark plug, air filter and did a thorogh cleaning. The lawn mower will start now but once it has been used and turned off, it won't start again. It has to be left for several hours before it will start again.
IF it runs fine..... for hours until you shut it down, then it won't start.... , its not the coil..... they usually (when they heat up) after a few minutes cut spark till they cool down a little (maybe 5 minutes or less) and they start again.
was the air filter cleaned? or replaced (this should have a paper filter, don't clean it, replace it)
I'd make sure (6.5? quantum?) that the carb is on good and tight, and the air filter housing is on good and tight..... try it without the gascap real quick as well....
It doesn't sound like the carb..... but sounds like a possible air leak around the carb. (btw, the gasket between the carb and air filter has routes for the primer, this will cause this as well if the gasket is torn, leaking or broken)
