How to unclog a fuel line on a new lawn mower?

And where is the fuel line located?
I had it checked out once and they said it was clogged! It is a yard machine (brand new) bought it back in March and I have only started it once myself! Until I had it checked out about a week ago!

Blow air through it. You can use your mouth or an air pump. If you Fuel line is clogged you may also want to clean the tank and filter.

Replacing a Lawnmower Fuel Line

It#39;s another how to or not to fix it do it yourself video. Here I am trying to fix a Lawnmower Fuel Line

how to unclog a fuel line on a lawn mower.?

If you indeed took the line off and flow was just a trickle.... replace the fuel filter (if its a in line) the one in the tank is permanent and requires the tank taken off and rinsed out and back flowed (air blow the opposite way gas flows)

Just blow the line out with air if its in the gas line..., I'd go ahead and replace it if its old and cracked....

My lawn mower isn't getting any fuel into the engine any suggestions on what might be wrong?

If I put fuel directly into the fuel filter the engine will start and run but when that fuel is gone the engine shuts down. I checked the fuel line it is clear and fuel runs through it fine.

The problem is in your carburetor./ I have no idea what kind of engine you have/Tecumseh or Briggs...ect

At thispoint it would matter if I am going to tell you step by step what to do to remedy this problem.

Based on what you typed it sounds to me that you have a Tecumseh Engine and that is based on you mentioning a fuel line.

Your carb has a bowl underneath it.
Remove that carb and bowl. Unscrew the bolt and take off that bowl. You will see a float. Inspect it for for cleanliness. The float is either plastic white or copper color. Make sure it looks clean and green stained form old gas and setting up. If it is you will need to remove that pin and clean.

Clean that bowl out good. I use wd-40.

If you clean it out real good and make sure your jet ports are cleared those are the tiney holes in that shaft that your looking dead at when you take off that bowl. There are holes in there,. Make sure they are cleared and there is a copper tubne in the middle going straight up through the tunnel, makle sure it is clear and your mower will crank and keep running if you do this right.
Your problem is that it is starving for gas. and that is in the carb:)

Lawn mower not getting fuel?

It's a 6.5hp craftsman push mower. New plug that i know for certain works, new air filter, and i recently broke down the carb and cleaned it all up with carb cleaner. once it's all back together the only way it will start is when fuel is sprayed directly into the carb, then it will start, and stall when that fuel is gone. There is fuel in the line going to the carb and fuel in the bowl. (when i take out the bowl drain screw some fuel dribbles out). What's the deal?? not enough fuel? clogged fuel filter?

Is the carburetor screwed on to the motor tight, or do you need a new gasket (up by the head). If its loose, you could be sucking air, bypassing the carburetor all-together. When they are loose, if you do get your motor running, it will have a tendency to surge, seemingly like a miss-adjusted high speed needle.

If you are getting gas out of the bowl, then it can't be a plugged fuel filter or stuck float. I would put my money on a bad needle-valve or blocked passage.

If you go through the trouble of taking it apart, rather than carb cleaner, I would soak it overnight in Lacquer thinner, then blow it out with an air compressor. The float should be set slightly higher then level with the carburetor upside down.

My toro lawn mower will run for 5 secs and then stall out. Please help.?

I have a Toro GTS 6.0hp lawn mower. Model #20023. I can't figure out why it keeps stalling out. I have changed the spark plug, cleaned the caribrator, cleaned the gas tank out, put a new fuel line on and nothing has worked. Please help.

I am a mechanic and it sounds like you covered the bases, might check the coil or the pick up. There can't be much else that could fail. (carburetor)

How to Diagnose and Repair a Broken Lawnmower Fuel Line – Part 1

This tutorial explains how to diagnose and repair a broken fuel line for a Gravely ZT1640 lawn mower (Model #915034) that ran briefly, quit and wouldn’t start. The spark plug, air cleaner and fuel lines are checked until the problem is found and repaired. The mower is about 4.5 years old, has about 280 hours on the engine hour meter and is equipped with a 16 HP Briggs and Stratton Intek OHV single cylinder engine.

The problem began one morning when I backed my mower out of the garage to mow the lawn. The mower started up immediately, ran strong but quit shortly after I backed it out of the garage. I tried restarting the engine, it would fire maybe once or twice on full choke, but wouldn’t start. After checking a few basics like the fuel selector switch it wouldn’t fire at all when cranking. The engine sounded exactly like this fuel starvation sound file on the Briggs and Stratton customer support site .

How to Diagnose and Repair a Broken Lawnmower Fuel Line – Part 4

Here are the old and new fuel filters. The black bits of dirt are on the outside case of the old filter. I purchased the new filter from my local Gravely dealer for about $4.

Notice the arrow imprinted on the case of both filters indicating the direction of fuel flow. The filter is installed with the arrow pointing towards the fuel pump.

Restart the Engine

The engine stopped running because the intake fuel lines inside the gas tanks had deteriorated and broken off. The fuel lines, fuel filter and carburetor were bone dry when the engine quit due to fuel starvation. This is the first time starting after installing new fuel lines and all the lines are dry.
