Lawn Mower Self Propelled

Answers

Would you buy a self propelled lawn mower or just a regular lawn mower?

It seems like the self propelled mower would be much easier to push but maybe they malfunction later on. Would you get one that is or isn't self propelled?

that depends on 2 things:

1) user physical ability. the ease of use. the regular one is lighter. but you will need to push it yourself. the self propelled one is a little heavier because of the mechanics. it self propells but you still need to push it yourself. you might be able to handle both. think about other users in your family, say your wife, son. they might have a preferenece.

2) size of the lawn, which determines the amount of time that you will need to spend behind the machine. i don't know how many hours/ minutes do you want or do you have to spend on the lawn. the self propel ones are slower. so, that means more time spent. (well, if you push the regular mower real fast, or real slow, that would affect the finishing time, too)

i would get a regular one myself. less expensive, less mechanics (less likely to breakdown), less heavy, can do just as well.

Self-Propelled Lawn Mower

Watch my lawn mower taking care of the lawn by itself! This is a stop motion bit I did with the help of friends and family.

I just bought a lawnboy self propelled lawn mower with electric start. Can you help me figure out the fuse?

The directions says to plug a fuse into the battery. I cannot figure out what they are talking about. There is nothing in the box that looks like a fuse. Am I missing something? Do you now anything about a lawnboy self propelled lawn mower with electric start. Did someone at the store take the fuse out of the box? Where would it be? Am I just stupid cause I cannot find anything that looks like a fuse?

See if this helps - I just Googled Lawn Boy. The fuse is amber colored plastic. This shows where it goes.

I dont know how to use my self propelled lawn mower?

This is my first time that I will have to mow the lawn by myself. I have no clue how to use my lawn mower. It is self propelled. Do I need oil and gas and stuff and how do I operate it? I know it sounds like a stupid question but I really need help!

Yes... you will need to buy a gallon of gas from the store. Most of the time people use this red heavy plastic container with a spout of some sort on it. Whoever cut your grass before bought and stored gas in something, so the red container is probably around somewhere. Take the cap off of likely gas containers and sniff for strong gas smell. There are precautions when getting a gallon of gas. Your container goes on the floorboard - never the seat. Windows are kept open for ventilation and NO smoking by anyone in the car. The inside of your gas container should have nothing but a tiny amount of gas in it. No leaves or dirt and especially no water.Empty out the tiny bit of residual gas out in a grassy spot away from any buildings. If the container is dirty with leaves and soil discard the container and get a new one. You should use about 1 gallon for a normal yard and will have to refill your mower gas tank about 2 maybe 3 times out of this one gallone. The gas tank on the side of the mower is not large and be careful not to over fill and over flow. Store you container in a safe dry spot.
Don't worry about oil at this time.
The lawn mower: You cannot learn how to do this over the internet. Starting a lawnmower is going to flip you out if you have never started one before. You need someone to come show up how to do it all. A neighbor is a good choice. It does not have to be a man. Most women end up being lawn maintenance connoisseurs as life progresses. If you have relatives ask one of them to come over and show you what to do. You will probably need to be shown twice, so if you do not get it the first time, don't worry about it. Someone from your church is another option.
You are going to find cutting grass very awkward if you have never done it before. But after one spring and summer of doing it you might find it a satisfying chore. You see results immediately and it takes a little effort (but not much with a self-propelled) and is exercise. I tend to zen out when cutting grass.
I'm sorry I cannot just tell you how to pull the cord while holding in the bar and getting your idle correct and all that. Your mentor will show you All this. One other thing: Before you start mowing search through your yard for pieces of wire, metal and/or glass. Things flying out of the side of the mower with the grass cuttings can be dangerous. You do not want to find this out for yourself. Flying rocks can break windows. There are all kinds of precautions to take. Safety is a big priority.
Good luck and do not get discouraged. If you have a little daughter now or someday make sure she knows how to do mow the lawn , and change car tires and how to check ALL the fluids in a car.

how do i change the belt on a self propelled lawn mower?

it is a self propelled lawn mower but it has to be pushed. Assuming its the belt, how do i change it?

All lawnmowers are different but the principal is the same. A belt runs from the engine to the transmission that delivers power to the wheels. My mower ( craftsman) has a cover underneath and you first remove the blade then take off the cover and that's where the belt is. If your mower has front wheel drive its probably somewhat the same. Hope this helps a bit. good Luck

I have this honda lawn mower self propelled?

The self propelled throttle cable shows a turtle and a rabbit And how can i know putting it in turtle will turn the wheels slow and in rabbit will turn the wheels fast? (hydrostatic transmission) hopes this helps

Let me ask this, does the speed of the engine change when you move the throttle lever? If so then that does not control the self propel, it controls the engine speed. There should be another lever to control the self propel, and is is near the "bail bar", or the bar you have to hold to keep the engine running. If you have the hydro transmission, then the orange lever next to the engine speed is what controls the speed of the self propel. Please refer to your owners manual. If you can't find it go to http://www.hondapowerequipment.com/own.h tm and follow the instructions.
