I have a Montgomery Wards Riding Lawn Mower its an 8 Horse Power Electric Start Model # ZYJ-1408 Serial # 37X-1479. Can anyone tell me what year it was built, what company made it and the size or number of the V Belt that runs the mower deck.
Thanks
Sears made by Toro mid 80's and just take the belt off and buy same size except inch shorter to allow for stretch.
I have a MTD riding mower with auto trans. When the mower is in forward it stutters almost like stop and go and doesn't go forward smoothly. Although in reverse is goes very very smooth. I tuned up the motor and replaced all the belts and blades. I'm guessing it may be the forward gear on on the trans? Anyone have an idea what else it may be? And/Or where I can find parts to fix the trans? It has a 17HP V-twin Briggs and Stratton btw. Thanks.
Also how much would something like this cost? Like a ballpark fig. Thanks.
Check the trans fluid level in trans. Most only hold 10 12 oz.
Do mopeds have a auto gearing system using a v shaped belt drive. I cant find any info on google I am looking for a bet drive set for a 1950s 160cc lawn mower engine. To put in a go cart

Bring the belt forward over the steering sector gear and its support brace and to the left-hand side of the steering shaft (the bottom of which ends with the pinion gear #3, white ). Snake the belt around the larger engine pulley, onto the smaller pulley and tighten the pulley back into place.
Loop the back end of the belt around the transmission pulley ( #4 ).

I have seen the right-angle gear as a solution to the Go-kart racing. It seems simple enough.
Well, there are actually about 8 different ways to drive the route and the right angle gearbox only one of them.
