Mower will not start, cable from tank to right of handle is not tight when pulled down in starting position.
There should be an adjustment screw there to tighten the cable.
My lawn mower I use to beat on, maybe does 15mph? I will see tomorrow.
Has a 42 inch deck 16.5 hp model # 313777 It has totaly come off and I do not the first thing about lawn mowers or pulleys or belts.
You'll have to go to a small engine repair shop. I went to murray.com and here's what they say:

My mower is leaking oil at the bottom where the shaft comes out of the engine, just above the blade.
Take the engine off, if the blade adapter is pressed on, really don't have to worry about burning the seal, but heat it up and melt some candle wax around it, and pop it off.... now remove the sump (has bolts all the way around (get a new oil seal, remove the old one good) pull out the oil seal with a flat head, and install a undamaged new one..... but really it depends with what engine manufaturer it is, they are different. Do get a book on it, haynes is good.
the model number is 38633x92a is there a diagram i could look at im not seeing how it hooks up unless Im missing a piece help please. lawn is getting long and i live in texas its to hot to use a push mower
That's a pretty old piece ! I could not find any manuals online. Will try the Library if it is open tomorrow .There should be a set of brackets [ ] on top of the mower deck ,that when you lift up the deck should meet somewhere under the seat ,pipe ?and have holes going through where you a bolt through and put a nut on the bolt. You may have worn things down pretty good and there is not much left.
My Murray lawn mower 4.0 HP won't start; I changed the oil and put in some fresh gas but it still won't start.
If I pull it after priming the blub (8 times) it seem to want to start but it still doesn't turn.
Check the spark plug. You might need a new one. The best thing is to take it to a repair shop
