my lawn mower starts and will stay running if you let it till the gas runs out but it makes this squeaking noise very loud and high pitched. like something is stuck i took it apart and looked at it nothing thats not suppose to be there is there? im thinking its the magnet but i don't work on lawn mowers i work on semi-trucks . any thoughts or help would be great thanks.
Sounds like the recoil starter is not disengaging or the engine brake is draging on the flywheel. Remove the starter assembly and free it up. Shoot it with WD-40. While you have it off look at the engine brake. When you squeeze the handle it should be clear of the flywheel.
i got this lawn mower from my frend 5 to 6 years ago and it runs grate and it sounds like a quad
i just got an old ride on lawn mower with no deck or blades. it feels like it is fast but it isnt really very fast at all. i want to make it go quite fast but not too fast, so i can ride it in the field next to my house a bit like a go kart . but i dont want it too fast. any suggestions.
If the transmission includes a belt drive, it is possible.
The pulley ratios would have to be changed.
A really mechanically person should assist you.
Bigger diameter wheels & tires will do the same thing.

I have an old, nonfunctioning lawn mower that has a cracked front axel (the front wheels both bend outwards from under the mower. Would love to donate it to someone that could fix it up and maybe sell it or just use it, rather than having it thrown into a landfill.
Well, there's Goodwill and the Salvation Army. They take stuff like that. You could also use the parts to make a really cool go-cart.

dump out old gas if you still have any in the tank. Gas starts going bad in 6-8 months. Add new gas, change air filter, change spark plug, and it should start unless there are other problems
i have a hard time turning loose of items.. so what should i do with the old lawn mower also i have a car that doesnt run anyone know who might be able to help me rid of the car or should i keep the car and the lawn mower?
Old items such as lawn mowers and cars can be donated to church or civic groups ( such as VFW ( verterans of foreign wars )). If car is worth more than $400, it can be used as tax credit in some cases. Hope this helps.

A 42 year old Australian woman was decapitated this morning in a freak accident involving a lawnmower.
The unnamed woman was walking to work when a passing lawnmower hit an unidentified object which caused a large piece of metal to fly through the air at high speed and decapitate the woman, killing her instantly.
Investigators in Townsville are trying to ascertain whether the object which struck the victim was a foreign body or actually part of the lawnmower blades. The driver of the tractor-towed lawnmower has been admitted to hospital suffering from shock, witnesses and police officers that attended the scene have described the injuries as horrific. The police woman who responded to the emergency call told reporters it was the worst accident she had seen in 15 years of service. Witnesses have been offered counseling and all the children from a nearby primary school were sent home.
