I got this old toro turf pro riding lawn mower I am needing parts for but I can't fine the model number or the serial number. Does anyone know where to look for this info on a mower at?
I have already look under the seat, but the sticker there is faded out and I can't read anything from it. I need to know if these numbers are put anywhere else on the thing.
Try under the seat.
Its a TORO 10682 Lawn-Boy 195cc push mower
the handle is broken, and i wanna find out what the specific part is called so that i can buy a new one instead of replacing the whole thing
Thanks alot!
go to the manufacturer's website and choose "customer care"
I have a 5hp Toro gas lawn mower, a few weeks ago the air filter (a paper rectangular one) and its plastic casing fell off in front of the mower and I ran over it, causing the bits to go all over the lawn. Needless to say I need to buy a new air filter and plastic casing for this.
Before this accident, I needed to take off the filter and spray inside behind it that metal part that has a little eyelit with Quickstart to get it going.
I have been operating the mower for about a month or so now without the air filter, always spraying Quickstart into that mystery part to get it going.
Last night I replaced the spark plug and bought a new air filter. The filter isn't on yet as I also need to find where to buy the plastic casing to fix it into place. I noticed that the mower will start if I tip it forward a bit so a bit of the gas or whatever is behind that mystery metal part where the air filter should be gets there then I pull the plug.
My questions are:
1. What type of damage have I done by operating without the air filter?
2. What is that metal thing behind the air filter? Again, the best description is a metal eyelit. Must have something to do with gas as making that wet starts the engine.
3. What does Quickstart do? I got this mower for free and the lady who gave it to me (I don't know her) said the problem with the mower starting was the air filter and I always needed to spray behind it with the Quickstart. What's the deal with this? Any idea?
Any help or suggestions would be awesome
Thanks
The metal piece behind the air filter is the choke. The damage you do by running without the air filter is internal to the cylinder and the piston. It is increased wear and then loss of compression. The need of the quick start says the unit has a priming problem. Take it to a service center and get a tune up. Good Luck.
Hello,
I have a snowblower that has sat for over 5 years with less than 50 hours on it. It will not start now.
It's a Model:38175 Toro CCR Powerlite-e - Electric Start 1000*** series year 1991
I put fresh gas/oil mixure per manual. (Tank was emptied prior to storage.) I put in a new spark plug matching the old. Still it would not start.
I used carb cleaner and sprayed it in the carb via breather. The engine would run until what I would say. "The cleaner burnt off and the engine ran out of gas". So, i'd say. Because it started briefly it is getting a spark and capable of running. But, it's just not getting gas.
I went to prime it and the primer button shattered under my thumb from dry rot. I replaced the primer with the primer from my old toro snowblower.
Are there any other rubber or neopreme gaskets in this model that could have dry rotted and causing it not to start? (I know when I bought a used lawn mower this summer. The guy took the carb off and replaced a rubber gasket that acted like a fuel pump some how).
Does this model have something like that could have rotted?
Well, tomorrow I am checking hoses from tank and primer to carb.
Anyone else have any suggestions on what to look for ,replace or try as well?
a detailed part drawing can be found here if you type in the model number.
I am a tinkerer. I am not an expert. SO, please please please use part numbers with layman terms on things i should try or replace.

Thanks Everyone who ANSWERED.
I found a local High School Vocational School with a small engine shop 3 blocks away from me.
Costed me $25.00 in parts. Labor was free due to the students doing the repair. (Check your local school though)
I dropped it off at 9:00 am and by 11 am sameday. I had it back in working order.
Probelm was with the float, needle and something else being corroded. They did say it was not gel build up. but, like rust corrosion from sitting so many years.
Thanks again, to all who provided thier input.
AND, I MUST ADD. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL VOCATIONAL SCHOOLS. THEY WERE THERE FOR ME.
I would agree with PD, something is probably clogged up. When gas sits for a while it goes to a gel like state and gums up. Also I would check the diaphragm out it could have some tiny pin hole or tear causing it not to pull gas from the tank. My nephews go cart had the same problem, And a 22 cent part fixed it.....LOL...Hope this helps out.
Mower Parts
Who are you to know that usually is used lawnmower, then you probably already have a very important point is that lawn mower parts. Go to either machine model, you need to use some parts replacement after some years. Even if the manufacturer's best model, which is at the beginning of the mode of operation, or the smooth lawn mower you buy the largest, is to break the current problems, it is a few years ago.
Damage and wear, the two countriesReplacement mower accessories of the most common cause. Because bears are those that work hard, rather than they should be part of the damage those completely broken and must be completely replaced. Wear is usually due to wear and tear parts....
Your Perfect Yard through Toro Mower Parts | Toro Lawn Mower Parts
You might have faced a situation where you try to avoid taking care of your lawn. Mainly because there is too much to do and so much to think about and taking care of your yard is not on top of the list. The best thing would be buying a cheap lawn mower, this is where quality is risky, if you want a lawn mower that would just serve its function then go ahead. But if you want something that would last, a lawn mower that would really take care of your lawn no matter how weeded it might be, maybe you’d like to try purchasing a Toro lawn mower. However, if you already have one then you’re just dealing with the problem of maintaining your lawn mower’s performance, then it’s always best to buy Toro mower parts instead of buying a brand new lawn mower. This can save you money and would fit your budget especially if you have a tight one.
