sorry about the lack of vids guys

the engine runs ok but as i go along it like it slips in and out of gear

Does it have a hydrostatic transmission or a belt?
If it has a belt it could need a new one or maybe it's too loose.
If it has the fancy transmission it could need more oil or the filter is clogged up.

If you have a stick shift that move by it self into neutral and you have to hold the stick in the gear so it will not shift out. Your gear box could have worn gears. Not a good thing.

I have heard and seen a Poulan walk behind mower, but not a tractor not even in my days of repair;However, I have hard of a smiliar problem from a tractor a lady once owned where it was cutting low on one soide and high on the other. When I inspected it the cutting deck was warped by the factory which made it a defect.

Most of the time when a mower cuts low it has a stopping point and also a certain heighth and that's it.

If you want your deck lowered to cut lower, you have adjustments on the deck itself that you can actually lower the deck a tad, but Iw ouldn;t lower it too much or you might end up throwing the belt off.

Depends on condition. Low hours, new belts and blades - might bring $500 if it looks new and has been maintained. The key in selling used equipment is that it is "ready to mow."

I have a Poulan riding lawn mower with a 42 inch cut briggs and stratton motor what kind of oil does it use?

They have a lawn mower oil at Auto Zone or Advance. it only comes in one weight so you cant go wrong. i have the exact same mower and have had no problems using that oil. Don't forget to check your axle grease and make sure it is full too.
