Does anyone know where to get a ranch king riding lawn mower owners manual?

looking for this or if anyone knows how to change the belts on the riding lawn mower - its a 12HP. please let me know if anyone can help - thanks!!!!!

Lawn Mower Problem Ranch King ?

I have a Ranch King that WILL start if I jump it with jumper cables right to the starter but it will not start if I turn the key.

I replaced the battery, the starter solenoid and the ignition switch but it still will not turn over using the key.

There is a little box next to the starter solenoid that has a wire broke off on it but I do not know what this box is or what it does. It is very small only about 1.5 inches long.

I have good voltage going to the starter solenoid but no voltage coming out. If I loop the solenoid to itself the engine will turn over and start.

Please Help!


I think the box is the stat safety switch that kills the starter unless weight is on the seat. The switch near the starter is likely the kill switch. http://www.gardenweb.com/ is a forum that discusses this stuff. You might google "Ranch King repair manuals" and see what can be downloaded.

I used to own a 1994 Ranch King 18/46 , it had an 18 hp. Briggs & Stratton twin (don't know the model) , but it was'nt pressure lubricated and started using oil after a couple years from the serious hills I mowed ... It had keyed rear 12" wheels and a gear Trans , a steel stamped front axle that got some play in it after awhile , got it from Farm & Fleet and it was red ...Now the Ranch King Pro if I remember correctly was black and was a newer Model and I think was Hydro ... Look it over real good and if everything checks out and you don't have alot to mow and relatively flat , then for $450.00 you might have a deal ... JMO

Just bought a used Ranch king riding lawnmower. I notice everytime ...

I have seen this problem with cars as well as lawn mowers. Sometimes the problem is caused by the gas draining out of the carb - bad seal. Other times it is caused by a bad float that either leaks or is not set properly. If you are handy you can rebuild the carb, if not just order a new one. You don't want to chance having a leak.
