When i say red hot mean like a slight orange glow,would this happen if i held the throttle fully open for a period oftime?How long would it take?and would it damage my lawn mower?
You do not have an exhaust manifold on the motor,but you do have a muffler. The muffler will get hot enough to cause severe burns but it should not glow red hot, unless the muffler is wrong for the motor. If this does happen over a period of time it will cause sever damage to the motor. If the motor is real lo on oil it will get hotter than usual and soon will lock up.

I really wanted to make a funny comment, but I will choose to be serious here, beings you sound as if you really want to know the right answer... The reason most mowers are red is that from a companies sales standpoint, a red mower attracts the consumers eye, just as if a person shopping for a fast car will most of the time purchase the red one (red vehicles are ticketed more for speeding than any other color). By having red mowers on the display racks at retail outlets, the buyer will notice a red mower before any other color. You've heard the saying... "Hot Red"!! However, most mower companies have their own signature color that they use and alot of them just happen to be red and for good reason. With that said, I will stay with my John Deere "green".. Black is generally always ground, with your battery and other electrical parts, whether it deals with Auto or not.

it should be sealed and it is a combustable. Make sure if it is the red one that both caps are on it. The only reason for the two caps is for when you are pouring it you open the back cap up to let the air in it.

i hope there was in inquest and the cop got suspended w/o pay, at least. This cop needs sensitivity training and relearn the definition of serve and protect the community. Steve was in the wrong but the cop was way out of line. I wonder if Steve had any “credentials” or knew someone high up, this cops ass would be in the ringer. There was no threat to warrant excessive force w/ mace. The cop just blew his cool. He deserves a lawsuit. I hope steve got a good attorney.
