I have a 36" lawn roller but my lawnmower only cuts a 20" path. Will my designs look funny or does it not matter?
I would recommend getting rid of your roller as they do more damage to your lawn than you might think.

A roller mower. There are dozens on the market, all sizes, petrol, electric, and manual. I have been tending my lawn now for 40 yrs and have got through two Suffolk mowers.My latest is an 18'' inch cut Suffolk Punch petrol roller mower, now 15 yrs old. I get lovely stripes and it picks up damp grass quite well. To get the best stripes cut in the mornings, just before the dew has evaporated
I would like to build a pvc lawn roller for my walk behind mower
Get yourself some 4" pvc pipe, 1/2" pvc pipe, 2 clean out plugs for either end of the pipe, threaded rod, some nuts and washers.
Cut the 4" pipe to length, fit and glue the cleanout plugs to the ends. Drill a hole the diameter of the threaded rod through the center of each plug. Remove one of the plugs. Fit the threaded rod through the hole of the plug still in place. Fill the pipe with sand, concrete, whatever. refit the other plug, running the threaded rod through the hole.
Cut the 1/2 pipe to the length needed to attach the roller to the mower. You'll need two of these lengths, one for each side. Drill a hole the diameter of the threaded rod through the 1/2 pipe. Fit the 1/2 pipe to the threaded rod on the roller - washer, pipe, washer, locking nut.
Drill a hole in the handle of the mower to attach the roller by means of the 1/2 pipe.

I know you can buy rollers for riders, is there such thing as a roller for a push mower. Or are there any other accesories out there to stripe your lawn with. Where can you buy them and how much do they cost? Thank you very much!
I found out a ghetto way to stripe your lawn. Tape two 5lb. weights on the back of your mower. I tried it today and the result was great. My lawn looks great, exactly what i want. Thanks for all the Suggestions.
The roller is the key to a good striped lawn mowing in different directions alone will only achieve an inferior and temporary effect. the use of what we call no8 wire mentality ie make up a roller with say a round post and cut it to the width of your mower,find a way of attaching it to the rear and weigh it down. If it is really that important and not for a one time showoff effect then my personal philosophy would be buy the proper reel mower you can get push models on the net.Good luck

They will know exactley where you stand, and will sell you the best machine for your needs. It will also come with warranty, and somewhere for you to take it back to if it goes wrong. later on when you are ready to upgrade, they are more likely to part ex if it has come from them.
