My husband just bought a used 48" Scag Zero Turn Hydrauluic mower. I am unable to locate the serial number of the actual machiene ( I can find for each part but not as whole) I am wondering if anyone might know where to look as I obviously am not looking in the right place. Thank you for all your help!
Not sure right off hand, but I know it is located on the block somewhere. Maybe hidden or covered up too. Might ask...

How come my scag lawn mower will on recieve spark sometimes. After cranking it over a few times it will die out an come back later? Only the left coil has spark "sometimes" the right is totally dead?
Check for a bad gound. Go to http://www.scag.com/manuals.html and see if you can get an answer from their manuals.
Cutting 200 yards, 2-3 times a month and also doing some ROUGH cuts; which lawn mower brand should I choose and why. Any other brands other than Scag have a shaft driven belly/blades.
Personally, I would go with the Ferris. The suspension will go a long way on keeping the frame in one piece. Everyone else has a sold frame. When we started selling the Simplicity models of the Ferris (Simplicity owns Ferris), our Toro (Toro owns eXmark) sales rep told us it was a gimmick and they had a better seat. Several months later, I went to an open house and talked to who I found out later was the Vice President of operations at Ferris. To the Toro comments he said, "It may be true, but you wouldn't buy a car without a suspension" Scag is popular around here, and several of the commercial cutters in the area will have nothing to do with Dixie Chopper, claiming they are too light. The ultimate decision is yours.

I cant seem to make my lawn look professional. I think if i could make something that can attach to the mower that would bend the grass it would look better (like the mowers at the golf course). Can I make something like this. I really don't want to spend the money.

It looks like it's just a roller you attach behind the mower. Try finding something like that.
Except in some rare models you turn it counter clockwise.
Pull the spark plug wire off so it doesn't try to start on you.
Hold the blade with a glove so you don't get cut.
