I am looking at buying a good rear self-propelled lawn mower. I have been looking at the Toro Sr4 Super Recycler Lawn Mower model #20092 with Briggs & Stratton Engine vs. Toro Model #20099 with Kohler Engine. Which one is better or what rear self-propelled lawn mower would you suggest for 1/3 of an acre of mowing and I need a good mower as I have some disabilities. Thanks JM
I would suggest they you consider a riding mower. Sears has several for less than $1000, and I'm sure Lowe's, home depot and wal mart have the same price range. I have walking disabilities and have found that my ability to keep up with a self propelled mower runs out after about half a yard, then it takes a couple of days to recuperate. With my riding mower I do all the yard work I want to with no problem.

Go for the Toro. It has a 5 year warranty along with a 5 year Guaranteed to Start guarantee. Plus with the Personal Pace self-propel, it is the easiest to use. Toro out sells Snapper in my shop 20 to 1. Honda is overpriced.
When I try to start my toro lawn mower (22in front drive recycler with 6.5 HP engine), the cord gets stuck and won't start. I also see a little white smoke coming out in the area down by the spark plug. I changed the oil in it before I used it last time, and I guess I did put a little too much oil in it, but drained it out just now and still the same problem. If someone can help me, I would appreciate it. Thanks a bunch
Take out the spark plug. Cover the hole with a rag. Pull the cord a few times. Clean spark plug. Replace spark plug. Start engine. It sounds like you got oil in the cylinder.

I would like to begin by sating that I have owned at least 20″, 21″, ir 22″ push lawn mowers as I run a lawn mowing service and go through quite a few lawn mowers. That being said, I have a lot of experience with the different mowers out there, including: Honda, Craftsman, Yard Machine, and Several others. I say this because the Toro Personal Pace Lawn mowers feature a self propelled system that adjusts to the speed that the operator walks. The more pressure a person applies to the handle, the faster it goes. Inversely, the less pressure a person puts on the handle the slower it goes.
