about 2000 square feet. My dad gave us one, but my husband thinks it will be to hard to maneuver around the cord and wants to go buy a gas powered one.
Electric powered ones are a pain in the butt. Your also limited to how far your cord is. Its definatly worth buying a gas one. You can get them for like 100$ at like home depot. Hope I helped.

There is a transformer box on my lawn. It's said on the transfermer box that "keep energized electrical equipment 10ft from one side and 3 ft for all other sideds" But will there really be any problem if an electric mower is approaching? Or is that warning just simply to make sure that if nothing approaches so nothing bad would happen in any case?
I suspect that the warning may be their to keep people from installing permanent equipment installations. Light fixtures, well water pumps, etc. I do not think anything should happen if you do not physically touch the box with the mower.
We received a electric lawn mower as a gift (it's a second hand mower) my husband has been using it for several months. The only way he can use it without cutting the electrical cord is pushing and pulling the mower with one hand while pulling, pushing, picking the cord with the other. I think it takes double the time cutting the lawn with this machine....is there a tip that you can give us? maybe something we don't know, like a retractable electrical cord...I don't know....something that you can use to be able to push the machine with both hands
BTW "The Man": 'Electric' would mean..... electricity. 'Battery-powered' would mean.... battery. DUH.
I have an electric; takes a few uses to get the hang of it. Most have a handle that 'flips' from one side to the other, so that the cord stays on the same side of the mower, and you don't have to walk backward, or drag the mower - both of which can be dangerous. Check your mower to see if it has a hinge at the bottom, where the handle attaches to the mower. If so, then you should also have a lever that will unlock the handle and allow you to flip it over to the other side.
Once you figure that out: start mowing closest to where you've plugged in, and walk away from it; make sure that where the cord plugs into the handle stays closest to the 'plug in' point at your house. Then, as you mow further away, the cord stays on the grass that's already been mowed.
today i was using my electric lawn mower and it stopped working. I found out that when i try to turn it on, the control panel in my basement turns off power to the power outlet that the lawn mower is connected to. If anyone knows what is wrong please post, thanks!
It runs on a 10 amp current
I've plugged it into a lot of dfferent outlets and it keeps on tripping the circuit....any advice?
An electric mower can take a lot of current, both at the start-up surge and when you run into resistance while cutting the grass. This current surge could cause the breaker feeding the outlet to trip. Most outlet circuits are supplied with a 15 - 20 amp breaker. If anything else is plugged in and powered up on the same breaker, the mower could easily cause it to trip.
Try plugging the mower into another outlet in another part of the house. Or, unplug or turn off electrical loads that are connected to outlets that are powered by the same breaker (the things that get shut off when the breaker trips).
I bought an electric cordless lawn mower in a garage sale, but it didnt have the charger for its battery, I opened the lawn mower and I saw the battery is a BB 17-12 (model BP 17-12) and it says 12V 17Ah / C20 / 1.75 VPC 25* rechargable valve regulated lead acid . So I do not know what to use if an AC adapter or a charger and what kind please, help!! thanks and regards
12v dc current litmited trickle charger is whats needed here my friend, if you stick the battery on a car charer it will charge it and it will work but the charge rate will be too fast and will damage to battery eventually. look up a battery specialist manufacturer like 'Yuasa' , motorbikes also use that type of battery
My Electric Lawn Mower
We recently purchased our first home and the backyard lawn was absolutely dead. I’ve been working to revive it for a couple months now and slowly, but surely, it has come back to life. So much so, that two weeks ago we decided it was actually time to buy a lawn mower.
Everything I was reading had a great big debate between gas and electric lawn mowers. Supporters of electric mowers talked about how eco-friendly they were and supporters of gas mowers talked about the power and utility. This is a world I absolutely never thought about. It never occurred to me that climate change battles happen in Lowe’s discussion boards.

Pulling to 15-20 after starting (sometimes it took even more tire) is very tiring and frustrating! Not all claim to a "3-button 1-Pull Start? I decided to search online at Amazon. com for the consideration of electric clippers. I hate having to mess with gas, oil, tune-ups, noise, which shook my hands numb during mowing (which I finally alleviated by wearing gel padded cycling gloves). My lawn is tall fescue – it grows very thick – I live in the desert, high in the Antelope Valley, CA (altitude 2346 m). As you can probably guess, it's quite hot here in mid-late summer (105-115 +). Even when I start at the beginning of shearing (9-11am), it is already near 100 degrees,...
