just needed a cable, now it runs good

One of my chores is moving the lawn along with the rest of the yard work. My husband says yard work is still womans work since it's basically part of the house. He said it's like dusting or vacuuming, but outside. Anyway now he wants me to wear a bikini while I mow.

I'm not sure I should do that because we have a push mower and stuff flies up and hits my legs. Also the neighbor boy next door stands at his bedroom window and watches me mow and so does the old man who lives behind us. I don't want all the neighbors seeing my breasts bouncing around in a bikini. I think he's asking for too much, don't you?

At least it wasn't high heels too - mines makes me wear those

Nix the tanning oil so the grass doesn't stick in places you don't want, and wear a good sports bra instead of your bikini top - again the compromise I had to make!

My friend and I are going to enter a writing contest for fun, just to see if we'd win. I've put down the first parts of a few and want some opinions. You can be honest, it's not going to hurt my feelings. I'm not a professional writer and don't plan on being one but I'd really like to win or at least place higher than her. :) I know I have a probelm with punctuation, grammer and tense. Just tell me which one sounds interesting and has the least amount of grammer problems. I know it's a lot to read so you can skim if you'd like.

1. It was hot, muggy and Tuesday in Mississippi. Marla had just moved to a rocking chair on her porch when April May Logan passed by her house. She watched the girl, running down the dirt road, singing at the top of her lungs to the birds in the trees.

“Do you know you’re bat-shit crazy April May?” Marla yelled after her.

“Why, yes I do Miss Marla, I most certainly do.” April May yelled back as she rounded the corner.

Marla shook her head. You would think that the daughter of the town’s pastor would be more respectful of her elders.

“It’s because your silly mama named you after months of the year instead of giving you a proper Christian name. Yep, that’s it for sure.” Marla said this quietly should someone else be around to hear and think she was the crazy one.

The soup-like humidity was life-sucking and as Marla rocked in her chair, she barely had the energy to wave her fan. The small man-made breeze felt good as it cooled the wetness on her cheeks. This is nice, thought Marla, this is a perfect day. Marla liked her days hot. She always said, “The hotter the better, cause it keeps people indoors, just where I like ‘em”.

2. The house is hidden from the road by a tree which bends with age over the small yard. Abundant leaves hang loosely from large, sturdy branches. The yard is tidy without much style. There are several old popcorn tins lining the front porch, all filled with multi-colored flowers, soaking up the sun of a Mississippi morning. A burst of color in a beige landscape.

With no breeze, the sun is brutal this particular morning. In the driveway, dust on an old Chevy is littered with bugs and leaves, having succumbed to the heat, both dying unnoticed. The normal sounds of summer are silent. They are no lawn mowers running, no kids splashing in front yard pools or dogs barking. Everyone has moved inside to wait for the sun to set and the moon to cool the air.

In this simple house lives a young man who some people in the town call simple-minded some call just plain simple and one or two refer to more generously as “uncomplicated”.

3. I haven’t been out of my house for 17 days. 17 days ago I left my job and came home to lose my mind. I’ve always wondered how long it takes one to lose one’s mind and I’ve decided it’s about 17 days. Work has finally stopped calling. On the first day I didn’t show up, they called and left a message. I didn’t return the call. On the second day, they sent the police by to check for a body. Two cops knocked on my door and I answered in my purple bath robe with “Hello Kitty” on the pocket. After inquiring about my well-being, I politely told the nice policemen that I was fine, thanks for asking and to please pass on to my employer this message.
“Go Fuck Yourself”
On the third day, my boss called to tell me that I was a certifiable loon (note: As only three days had passed, I was still, at this time, technically, for argument’s sake, um sane) and that I should take my own advice and “Go Fuck Myself”. He is actually a nice man and I was sad to see that my trip into madness had caused him this stress and anger.

You really need to give yourself more credit as a writer. These are all actually very good. Your descriptions of setting are excellent especially in the second one and your characters are alluring so I want to know more about who they are. You have a endearing style of writing...
I'd say the best written out of the three is the second one only because the description is just that well done. I did like the Marla from the first one though. She sound like a good strong interesting character with a bit of a comic side. The third one needs the most work in the way the writing flows, but actually I think that one sounds the most interesting and the most like a story I would read. Both two and three are rather mysterious. If you need to choose one to write I'd go with the second one.

Lol, sorry, random question. I just remembered that once when i was in a rental house, i was sitting in the backyard with some friends. We had this gate on the side of the house, that opened up into the yard. I had my back facing that part of the yard, but all of my friends were staring right at it. They told my turn around and i was like okay, thinking it was a joke. WHen i turned around, two yard men entered the yard, one with huge hedge trimmers, and the other with a lawn mower. I screamed and ran inside and locked all the doors, and i was screaming for like 5 minutes. It is really funny now, but then i was terrified. Lol, when i looked out the window, one of the yard guys had dropped his hedge trimmers and was just looking at me. It was just a really funny moment.

WTF?

I went outside to play in the snow when I was younger. My dead cat (RIP lolz) was burried about two weeks before this...more or less...idk. I heard this faint sound, and I ignored it. Then I heard it again and it sounded like a meow. Then again, louder. Then again, very loud and coming from the place where we burried my cat. Once more it happened, with almost a squeal on the end. I screamed and ran inside.

LOL I was so terrified now I look back and laugh.

It's almost been a year now and I'm still being stalked. It all started when I bought my first place and moved in.At first it was stuff like feeling watched and dead animals and bones thrown up thru a hole in the floor{replaced now}.At the beginning it was stuff like knocking on my mobile home and trying to give chicken bones to my pets.I began finding BK bags and wrappers in my yard and on my porch..At first I thought maybe someone was messing around and they was not nice to animals.It continued and still is happening tho. As time went on it's gotten worse! Anything from making it so I couldn't use my phone to trying to blow up my lawn mower {which at the time my b/f had been doing the mowing for me latly} to trying to sneak up on my man from behind in the woods {while my bf was trying to get a visual by hiding in the woods/bushes} to DEAD wrote in the snow to cutting my porch light to feeling watched then finding foot prints on my porch where the stalker had been at my door watching thru the blind {got new blind} to smiley sticker on my dogs tag from where he'd pottyed outside to part of a newspaper article attached to my cats coller{unreadable by the time I seen it} to unplugging my heat tape so my lines busted to being seen laying by my home from neighbors across the rd.{got away} to my bfs nephew seeing a man in the dark standing across the rd. staring at my place {he's a kid got scared and ran inside my place where I was} to cutting my porch light while it was on and I was home alone to attempting my door knob multiple times to punching and leaving dents in the side of my home {when I'd been gone for days} to saying HEY outside my home so we heard it inside and responding in other ways too...and more...He doesn't fear a knife or motion lights/porch light or big dog or cops {which said I must get a visual which I have not been able to} or camera's because he avoids them {must see them put up during day which means he watches...I don't understand why this is happening or his intentions...Sometimes he just bangs on the trailer and other times he tries to get inside...He hasn't attempted to break my glass in the door yet but keyword YET! I think he doesn't want neighbors to hear it shatter...At times he gets under my mobile home and just listens to me { I know b/c he moves underpinnings and sometimes I hear him do it!}...It takes the cops 30-40 minutes to get to my place and he may have my line tapped or hear me call even when I whisper??He is gone by the time they show...They always say the same things get a visual and really aren't helping me! I know the guy is approx 5'11-6'3 and he wears about a 10-11 1/2 mens shoe...I know hes slick and fast..maybe military training?? I don't understand what he wants because he does some strange things. I want to know his intentions and how am I suppose to catch him when I've tried steak outs with no luck-big dog-motion lights-cameras & much more...I am feeling like this may not end until something bad happens to me and if that be the case some of the blame should go back to the cops I think...I'm frustrated and at times scared...I've got flashlights-mace-baseball bats-knifes and considering a gun...Anyone have helpful advice or better yet a idea on his intentions or how to catch this guy???
Oh yeah and others have witnessed this and no luck catching him...many witnesses to the actions...this guy is mega slick...I tried not staying alone or barly staying there and that did not work..Anyone been thru something like this? ANYONE??? I have support and people trying to help {friends/bf & his fam and my dad tried once} NO LUCK! I'm lost on what to do and what his intentions are. I know this is a hard question. I have no place left to turn with cops not helping me. They really should take this more seriously I think...I've logged most the events too...the cops have copies and updates...they just say w/o a visual they can't help...
I've tried traps well the ones I can do without hurting my pets or a stray that is out and about.He's tripped over one before and stepped in animal feces purposly placed there but no help..It was funny that he stepped in the poop tho...lol...Unfortuntatly this is no laughing matter tho and the cops are no help!
Anyone dealt with something like this before or know a lawyer for more advice? Although, I doubt theres much more that he/she would say to me than I've already figured for myself. As far as the comment from Kevin goes---this is real..if you check I've been asking for help in other questions for months now...and I'm too busy to make something like this up---I'm using Yahoo Answers because I've done so much already and tons of research so I am hoping someone has something more to help me learn about my stalker. I live with this daily and it's no fun. I want to catch this guy and get my life back!
