McLane (Lawn Mower) oil change - how many quart ? 1 qt?

Hi
I have a Mclane Reel 7 blades Lawn Mower. It has a 3.5 Briggs engine. It never change oil since day one. I am thinking give it a oil changes but for how many quart.
I am thinking one quart or measure it by draining the oil.
If you know, I don't have to go through the mess.
Thank you.
Anthony
Opps. It was a 2.0 HP and I cannot found the drain plug easily. It seems like I have to take off the engine, is this true....
way to much work to change a lawn mower oil.
does it matter anyway after almost 10 years of old oil?
Thanks again.

dont take off the engine...remove the oil fill cover and tip the mower on its side and drain the oil. to refill , add a little oil at a time until you get the right reading on your dip stick...

I'm thinking of buying a reel push lawn mower. What are your thoughts?

how would I sharpen the blades?

Just take it to the shop or hardware stores -- they usually sharpen the mower/tool blades.
My father always had one of these and a "regular" motorized push lawn mower. We had over an acre, and this was one of our chores. Just don't let the grass get too high. I always thought the reel mower was cool.
He also always kept a sling blade for the grass/yard/garden.
I think this is a nice green alternative, altho' I can understand why people would not want to do this in a large yard.
And by the way, our yard had a total of 5 terraces, and was NOT landscaped and even!!!

New reel lawnmower won't cut?

Last year I bought a new reel lawnmover to cut the grass at my house. The only problem is that it won't cut the grass hardly at all. It wouldn't hardly cut the grass when the grass was even short. I even put it on the highest setting when the grass was short and it didn't cut well. And I also tried it at every setting in bettween. It only cut about half the grass blades. I've seen other people use reel mowers and theirs just cuts it easy as you please. I have Kentucky Bluegrass for my lawn, so it's not a tough grass either. Why is it not working?

I'm wondering if it might be the paint or something on the cutting blades. Is there a good tool to professionally sharpen the blades or ways of setting it so that it works better?

dull blades or improper blade clearance setting is my guess.
