Which are best for overall use of cutting glass in low expense to maintain?
Push reel uses only human power. Ours has never needed sharpening, so is both low cost and low maintenance. If you've never used one and have hills, you might borrow or rent one first to see whether you're up to it.

He is in this tv commercial touting how serious he was as a kid and probably mowed lawns ( we all did ) except we pushed a non-powered reel type mower. He was probably down at the school yard shooting hoops and not concerned about mowing a white man's lawn for a mere dollar.
That is an actual video of him mowing the lawn in the commercial, it's not a video of a boy pretending to be him, that's actually Magic in the video, so even if he didn't have an actual "business", he obviously did mow the lawn.
I have a Gardena reel lawn mower, electric with battery. I know it needs to be fully charged before re-use, like 24 hours, but should it be fully DIScharged before I re-charge?
By the way, the power adapter (a transformer type) was giving only 9 volts for a 12 v battery, so it would never hold a charge - had to buy a new one.
Always a good idea to fully discharge because of battery "memory".Your battery will loose its maximum charge if repeatedly recharged before being drained. The battery tends to remember the smaller charge. It can also cause the battery to loose its peak voltage more quickly.
I have a back yard that has a steep incline, probably about 30 degrees. The power electic mower is very heavy to maneuver, can tip sideways being top heavy when going across and cant make it up the hill. A hand push reel mower doesn't work very well either. I am considering trying an electric mower. Will that work? I cant afford to have a company come and mow my lawn. Any suggestions other than letting die and make my life easier? Thanks
I'd suggest growing something else that you don't have to trim. Any push mower will have an issue of being tippy.
Green Lawn Mower « The Greener Truth
It’s still a little early in the winter season to be talking about cutting grass (can we even remember what green grass looks like?!). However, today is March 1st, so let’s look forward to the upcoming spring season. I cannot wait to take a nap in the hammock and feel the sunshine warm my face. Today, many parts of the country are already starting to feel the earliest stages of thawing, and those first few little baby blades will soon be reaching for the sun. I am here to share the most amazing (and greenest) option for cutting those blades down when the time comes.
The first time that I saw a push-powered lawn mower
when I was a kid, I thought it was the coolest thing. I wanted to try it out and started cutting the grass in my grandparents’ back yard as soon as I was tall enough to reach the handle. I was an energetic kid, but by the time that I was about half way done, I was as withered as the current Colorado grass. Now, admittedly, this mower was probably older than my grandparents, and the newer ones are much better, but if you have a decent sized lawn, these push mowers are not very practical.
