how would I sharpen the blades?
Just take it to the shop or hardware stores -- they usually sharpen the mower/tool blades.
My father always had one of these and a "regular" motorized push lawn mower. We had over an acre, and this was one of our chores. Just don't let the grass get too high. I always thought the reel mower was cool.
He also always kept a sling blade for the grass/yard/garden.
I think this is a nice green alternative, altho' I can understand why people would not want to do this in a large yard.
And by the way, our yard had a total of 5 terraces, and was NOT landscaped and even!!!

Which are best for overall use of cutting glass in low expense to maintain?
Push reel uses only human power. Ours has never needed sharpening, so is both low cost and low maintenance. If you've never used one and have hills, you might borrow or rent one first to see whether you're up to it.
I purchased a sunlawn reel push mower and the three part handle is very warped..Will it straighten its self out if I put it together and use it?
It won,t do it by it self . Can you take it back?? If so get your money back go to Lows and get a Scotts you won,t have any problems, hope this helps
Do you leave it there (some places say it's good for the grass)? Do you clean it up? How?
If the cut grass is not so thick that it will smother the grass beneath it, leave it there, it will put nutrients back into the soil. If it's too thick, you will have to rake it up.
Thanks a lot--- I looked at Lowe's and Wal Mart and saw NONE! :-(
They actually sell out really fast at most hardware stores.
In our area, Home Depot, True Value and Valu sold them as of last year. We literally had to ask the guy in Valu when they'd come in and have one put aside for us.
Amazon.com has many of them with "super saver" shipping, which means it will come to you.

I recently move to a home where I had to cut the lawn. I did not want to spend a ton for a gas mower and deal with buying gas and the noise. Everyone I talked to told me to go with a power mower. Man, I am glad I did NOT. This mower is great. Took 30 minutes to put together, but was easy. I enjoy mowing my lawn and it is super quite. I would recommend this to a friend. Seems to be made of quality parts. On the down side, this mower will miss a few blades here and there, but is not a big deal to go over it again or bust out the weed wacker. I would also consider my yard size. My yard is .20 acres and is perfect, probably would not want this for more than .5 acre.
I enjoy my...
