Like an old fashioned push mower that doesn't use electricity or gas.
Did you like it? Or was it horrible? I'd like to get one, but it'd probably be horrible on my lawn. We have lots of holes and an uneven lawn.
If I got one, it'd be a new one :)
Old reel mowers are a nightmare.
But a nice new reel mower is a dream by comparison. The blades whirr effortlessly, they're sharp, they roll smoothly, and the grass flies as you push the mower in front of you.
A few tips, though - have the blades sharpened once a year - and you CAN'T let the grass get too long - otherwise it is very hard to nearly impossible - depending on the length of the grass. Do it frequently, and it's no big deal. Don't leave the mower in the rain to rust. Keep it clean and oiled and it will treat you well. (I could abuse and ignore my gas mower - but a reel mower will not work well if neglected)
Also - if you have some holes and bumps - you'll get to know them and work out your own path so you don't get a wheel bouncing into one. My own lawn has holes and bumps...I've found that with time, knowing where they are is second-nature, and they aren't an issue for me anymore. (though they would be for someone mowing my lawn for the first time).
A note on powered mowers - electric mowers pollute FAR less - though again, you have to be careful not to let the grass get too long between cuts. Gas mowers - with no exhaust filters, are said to produce more pollutants in an hour of mowing that driving a car 1500 miles. (or more, depending on the study source).
I find my reel mower is an asset. I have had to borrow a neighbor's power mower on occasion when the lawn "got away" from me...but it's still a lot fewer pollutants than using gas every time.

Do you leave it there (some places say it's good for the grass)? Do you clean it up? How?
If the cut grass is not so thick that it will smother the grass beneath it, leave it there, it will put nutrients back into the soil. If it's too thick, you will have to rake it up.
I purchased a sunlawn reel push mower and the three part handle is very warped..Will it straighten its self out if I put it together and use it?

I found quite a decently priced cordless rechargeable reel mower. But is strength/exercise still required to use these devices? And are they just as effective as normal lawn mowers?
Go green and get a push mower the health and monetary benefits are much better and you don't have to worry about stinky smells when you try to start the darn thing(if you can start it at all). Push mowers are easier to store and low maintenance too.
Different Types Of Reel Mowers
Unlike the rotary mowers you're used to, reel lawn mowers don't have an engine, relying instead merely on sharp blades and the muscle-power of the operator. Their blades also spin differently than those of a rotary mower. While a rotary mower's blades spin on a plane parallel to the ground, the blades of a reel lawn mower spin at an angle perpendicular to the ground. Cordless mowers work best if your lawn is 1/3 of an acre or less, and if you keep your lawn mowed regularly. They're not effective for larger lawns or for tall grass, since either condition puts a lot of strain on the battery. And pushing them up hills can put a lot of strain on the operator, so make sure you purchase a self-propelled...
