My riding lawn mower is going through a tank of gas in about 30 min. What could be wrong?

I can usually mow for 3+ hours without refilling the tank, but all of the sudden it goes through a tank in about 30 minutes. Anyone know what could be wrong? It is a Cub Cadet 16hp V-twin.
I checked for leaks, didn't find any...but i might need to look harder. I filled the tank and let it sit over night and didn't loose any fuel. It is possible to only leak when the lines are under pressure?

you are losing fuel..check your fuel line.

Check again. If the engine is normally ( no giant plumes of white smoke from rich mixture) then the gas is going somewhere!

without looking at it I can't help you more...and yes you could only be losing fuel when it is running.

best to ya.

Can I use 10w30 or sae 30 oil instead of 4 cycle oil for my riding lawn mower?

I have a Craftsman garden tractor and it seems to be burning oil awful fast. I don't see any leaks whatsoever. I've been using 10w30 engine oil for the last couple of seasons and lately it's been sputtering even after I have changed the spark plug, fuel filter, and cleaned the air filter.

10w30 and sae 30 are both 4 cycle oils. I use 10w30 in my sears garden tractor because I use it in winter for snow blowing. I've never had an oil problem. Does it smoke?

can you get a speeding ticket for driving to fast on a riding lawn mower?

like if im doing 30 in a 25 on a riding lawn mower
bigger engine
just got a 30 hp lawn mower engine
i took the deck off, did some other things to it
and tightened all the belts to go faster, its a beast lol

Of course. If you're on a roadway and going over the speed limit in a vehicle, then you'd get a ticket.

People have gotten arrested for DUIs for driving their lawn mower drunk.

I have a Murray riding lawn mower that will not start after sitting for 2 or more days.?

. Also will not start after engine is heated for about 30 minutes. Brand new battery and starter checks out fine. What could be the problem?
The engine will not turn over after turning on the ignition key. The problem is electrical, but the battery is brand new and both it and the starter check out fine. Also, after running the engine for about 30 minutes and getting it really hot, if you turn the engine off and try to start it it will not turn over. What could be the problem?

I would check for water in the carburetor bowl. Some carbs have a bolt that secures the bowl to the body of the carb. If you could loosen that and collect the fuel into a tray, then you can tell if your fuel is clean. If water is found, then its best to disassemble the carb and clean out internally with carb cleaner.
I hope this gave some measure of a solution.
