Help. I removed my deck, replaced the blades and put the deck back on. Unfortunately, I can't get the belt around the pulley in front between the wheels. Is there a trick??? It is an older craftsman riding lawn mower.

Some of the Murray built lawn mowers require you to pull up the steering column to be able to get the drive belt around the engine pulley. In any case go to the Sears site and see if there's a PDF file for intruction manual, It should give you a hint on replacing either belt.

Hey I was wondering if any of you would know where I could find either deck parts, or a used mower deck that would fit on a 1976 or equivilant riding lawn mower?? I need a pully, and a quill set.

The lawn mower was given to me, then i got the deck later from the same people, but it needed some work, i have repaired the stuff that was wrong with the deck, then went to mount it but the people that gave it to me said they threw away all the bolts and such so im not sure how it goes on the lawn mower and i cant find a picture or any information any place on-line. if you have a picture or any information regarding this please respond.
Also, look for a local lawnmower repair shop to find some of the things you need. They usually have some old stuff in back such as quik-release pins and other things they might even give to you , or at least give you a good deal on.

Noma made some for lowes, never heard of ayp making them for them, but mtd has certainly made some as well.... (noma was shortly bought soon after by murray and discontinued, so you may not know them)... if it is a noma (I own one), there should be a silver sticker on the frame, around the hitch point at the back, if its still stuck on. YOU MAY get the manual then from the murray website... MAY though since they went under and acquired by briggs, only parts are being made, if its a mtd the mtd website ( www.mtdproducts.com ) you might find it there...

Preparation
Like many projects, think safety. Always wear heavy leather gloves and safety glasses for protection and always disconnect both the mass of wire from the battery negative terminal of the battery and spark plug ignition of the candle. If the device is equipped with an engine cylinder, remove the twoson of the spark plug of the spark plug.
