I have replaced my lawn mower battery 3 times and each time it goes bad after just a couple of months. What could the problem be. It is a power pro 7 speed mower. I have bought 2 batteries from Walmart and 1 from Kragen which cost double.

You could have a problem with the armature inside the engine. These engines use these like an alternator to charge the battery. But unlike an alternator they're more thing can go wrong. It could be corrosion build up between the pick-up coil and the armature, or something loose in the wiring. The wiring one these usually are a large series of wires coil together and coated with a sealer, but sometimes do go bad. Hope this is some help.

I jumped the solenoid since the ignition and on/off switch does nothing along with amp gauge on the dash not giving a reading. The starter barely clicks while the engine barely turns over 2 or 3 times. Please help. Thanks in advance. Hi There! I was on the phone with my husband when I saw your post, so I read it to him. He said to test the starter by (pull it out if needed) take the jumper cable straight from the battery to the starter...
