Can I shovel snow with my riding lawn mower?

I don't have a shovel on it but can I still shovel snow btw I live in PA. and it' snowing bad.


Not efficiently. The plow blade is what actually pushes the snow away. You might be able to do a little bit without the plow attachment, but you also run the risk of ruining your lawn mower due to excessive use of the motor and transmission and water damage from the snow. You could try it, but you might be better off just buying a snow plow attachment. Living in PA, I’m sure you will be able to use it for years to come. I have a craftsman model 917.270771 riding lawn mower and was wondering if I could fit a snow blade on it? If so then which blade and would I need any special mounting equiptment?

which riding lawn mower should i buy for mowing and plowing snow the john deere LA165 or Cub Cadet SLT1550. ?



Hi I've had both mowers. The Cub Cadet I've always had problems with. The plow blades have been very hard to put on. The mower just never seems to have the power to do what they claim they it would handle.

The John Deeres on the other hand have always worked well for me. I find that their plows are easy put on and easy to operate. They also seem to have all the power do what they claim they can handle and more.

Riding lawn mower or atv with pull behind mower??? NorTrac tractors??

I am trying to figure out which way to go. I have heard of people having an ATV/4 wheeler and getting a pull behind mower and tiller(self powered), also a snow plow. Are there ATV's with PTO's?? What size engine would you need to have. I have 3.5 hilly acres to take care of. Also considering a NorTrak tractor or a used kubota. I have been able to check out riding mowers but do not know about ATV's or small tractors. Any info would be appreciated.
