New Toro Lawn Mower

Why would a Toro lawn mower won't keep running?

This Toro Personal Pace lawn mower was left with fuel for a year or two. I cleaned the carburetor, replaced the oil, replaced the spark plug, checked the air filter, and put new gas. When I use starting fluid or prime 5-10 times, it starts. But it won't keep running. It dies after few seconds.

What could be the problem? Please help!

It sounds like you did everything necessary to get it running after it sitting around for that amount of time. I would bring it to the Toro dealer. Its probably something you just can't do on your own.

NEW TORO MOWER

My toro lawn mower will run for 5 secs and then stall out. Please help.?

I have a Toro GTS 6.0hp lawn mower. Model #20023. I can't figure out why it keeps stalling out. I have changed the spark plug, cleaned the caribrator, cleaned the gas tank out, put a new fuel line on and nothing has worked. Please help.

I am a mechanic and it sounds like you covered the bases, might check the coil or the pick up. There can't be much else that could fail. (carburetor)

I have a new Toro self propelled lawn mower and it is making metal knocking noises.?

We probably have only used it 4 or 5 times on our smaller lawn. We were using it in pretty long grass when it started and we cleaned the grass out, the blade is sturdy and can't see anything that it might be hitting. It almost seems like it might be more in the engine. Any Ideas?

CHECK THE OIL LEVEL NOW.
i would take the mower to be looked at while it's still underrwarrantyy. check your owners manuel as to where to take it. once thewarrantyy period is up it will then be on you to pay to have it fixed.
that's a quality mower so don't hesitate to have it looked at NOW.

toro lawn mower makes knocking noise while cutting?

I have a self propelled toro and when i start the motor it sounds like it should, but when i start mowing it makes a loud knocking noise. Any suggestions?

check the blades, something may get stuck there, or the blades became loose.

Who know's how to change the oil on a Toro Lawn Mower?

I've tried everything, I know they said to change the oil every season. So I tried to suck the oil out with a turkey baster but there is a curve in the oil pipe along the engine and I only got a little bit out. I tried turn the mower over to let it drain but only a half of quart came out and that is all over my living room carpet..geeezzz..another mess to clean...so any suggestions?

There is only going to be a little less than a quart of oil in you machine. approx. 16-20oz. The only way you can drain the oil out is to tip the machine on it's side. Air cleaner up/ oil drain/fill down. As you tip the machine make sure you have a large pan in the right place to catch the oil. NOTE: not an indoor project. Since you have been tipping it. make sure that you check out your air filter, sometimes when you tip it the worng way the filter can fill up with oil, and not let the mower run right. Refill with fresh 30w oil. Wipe up drainage with towel. Newer machines do not have a drain plug. If it does have a drain plug, dont use it. because most likely you will overtighten it/ stripping it out. and it will leak.

Sonning Golf Club in Berkshire is making dramatic water savings after becoming the latest venue to install Toro's Golf Decoder Controller (GDC) irrigation system.

The club commissioned independent irrigation consultant Irritech Limited to design the 18-hole, 6,366-yard course's greens, greens surrounds, approaches, tees and fairways GDC system as well as oversee the tendering process and supervise the installation as part of a phased upgrade.

Products selected for the project include Toro 835S Series valve-in-head sprinklers, 220 Series solenoid...

Toro to introduce environment-friendly biodiesel-powered mowers ...

Toro's a little late to the biodiesel-in-your-lawnmower game (see all sorts of previous stores in the related links below), but now that they're involved, they're not kidding around. This week, the company introduced two dozen B20-friendly ground equipment models this week at the Golf Industry Show in Anaheim, California. Toro will also start selling June new diesel-to-biodiesel conversion kits that cost between $30 and $500 (I'l admit, I'm not sure what these kits are all about). Steve Wood, Toro's biodiesel project manager, said B100 Toro models might be ready by 2009. Toro sells its ground equipment to companies that maintain many NFL, baseball, and college fields and, since 1998, has provided...
