I have already look under the seat, but the sticker there is faded out and I can't read anything from it. I need to know if these numbers are put anywhere else on the thing.

Try under the seat.

What kind of transmission fluid to use in toro riding lawn mower?

We purchased a used older riding lawn mower by Toro we have transmission information like patent number but we have no other information on it and do know it has 6 speed and does not work in reverse. We would like to know how much fluid is needed and what kind to use.
The transmission is a Peerless Gear Drive I believe and the patent number is 3812735 and it also has the following number or code on it too ( RE32125). And the engine is Brigs & Stratton Model # 193707, Type # 0152-01 and Code # 86121009. Any information would be greatly appreciated and helpful. Thank You in advance for any help with this question.
We have tried to go to the Toro site and related sites but can't seem to locate the information we are looking for. We can find manuals but have to purchase them and currently can't afford to get one. We even called several local areas that are supposed to deal with repairs on the lawn mowers and can't get a straight answer to our questions.

I have a few links for you, but it is the first three that may have the information that you need.
If you gave a series number I could have reduced down some of the links, I have a open contact on my profile page just e-mail if these do not help or if you there are other manuals you need.
Other wise take your time to read through and recheck before you start cranking those nuts.

Tecumseh Techs Handbook- On page 7 (chart 2) is the lubrication also check page 8 for identifying your tranny by sight and series numbers. I think this manual is going to be your best bet.

Tecumseh-troubleshooting - this is almost a repeat of information from above but it has simple trouble shooting charts.

Briggs and Stratton (model series 193700 to 193799) - Just in case your having trouble with that engine (it should be specif to your engine model) this ought to give you some insight.

These last three are blow up diagrams for a few different models as I said if these do not cover it contact me and I'll see what else is in my maintenance files.
Please understand that these are important to me I do not mind if they get downloaded but I usually will pull sharing rights after 48 hrs so if you find information that you need download it or contact me direct after sharing is closed .

Riding lawn mower repair?

I was checking out the blade on my Toro by tipping the lawn mower all the way back on the two back wheels. Bad idea. Then I noticed Oil was coming out of the muffler. Ever since, it hasn't started. What can I do to solve this?

I've had this happen to me countless times before! Do not try and start the mower. Leave it set for awhile to let any excess oil run back into the oil sump, then take out spark plug. Crank or pull engine over a few times and watch for any oil coming from spark plug hole. Also you may want to take off the muffler and do the same, checking for oil out the exhaust opening. Blow excess oil from muffler then re-install. Next, take and remove air filter element and wash in mild dish soap and water, alow to air dry completely before re-assembly. Install new "hotter" range spark plug (example if mower came originally with Champion CJ8 plug, install a LM19 or equivelent, top up oil level in engine and everything should work just fine!! Happy mowing!!

How to Winterize a Riding Lawn Mower

A riding lawn mower is a big investment, and should be protected. For many, the winter months mean putting mowers away and not giving them another thought until the spring season comes around. Before putting a rider into storage, though, take a few simple steps to help maintain it over the winter.

First, drain the fuel from the gas tank and the oil from the crankcase. Always recycle the oil and dispose of the fuel properly. Replace the oil with new oil that is the correct grade for the mower. Fill the gas tank with fuel that has been pre-treated with a stabilizer. This will keep the fuel from gumming up in the tank.

After filling up the fuel tank with the new fuel, run the engine for a few minutes. This process will cycle the new fuel and additive through the riding lawn mower’s system and the carburetor.
