Toro Lawn mower- made in 2009 22 inch deck. It is a push mower
So I would want the 13/16 as that is the base in order to remove the plug
The larger plug base size is 13/16".

I have a little over/under 3,000 dollar budget. I would like a deck width of atleast 34'' and up to 42''. I know the toro at home depot is a good buy and is ranked high by consumer reports. Is there any dixon, exmark, hustlers, etc for under 3,000? Also does anyone know a website for used zero turn lawn mowers besides craigslist and ebay?
I've seen John deere zero turns for 2999 at Lowes. I personally would never buy a John Deere but for a small budget they are a good buy.
I was in the market for a lawn mower and found that Sears had the best selection and on that day, the best deals. I purchased a Craftsman 21" mulch and bag mower with a 190cc Briggs & Stratton 6.75 ft.lb torque for $80 off at $250 and has 2 year warranty. I was used to a primer button and an engine rated in horse power, but this one has 'Ready start' and no primer. Is it an auto choke like on some Artic Cat atvs or not. Has there been any trouble? Who makes Craftsman mowers??? Is it TORO? It seems to be a quality piece, the deck is thick and seems to be a heavy duty material, not like the MTDs I've looked at.
I just found out that 'Husqvarna' made my particular mower based on the source code '944' in the beginning of the item number '944.36819'.
Briggs & Stratton Engines equipped with the Ready Start feature which defeat the need for a primer bulb because the necessary amount of fuel is fed to the carburetor prior to starting. There is no choking required on any Craftsman mower. You are correct about the manufacturer, it is an American subsidary of the Husqvarna Group. The decks on Craftsman mowers are made of a heavy guage steel which makes them a little weighty, but gives them a better quality.
Hello everyone - I've been doing some searching.. I NEED SOME HELP! I have to be doing something wrong..
I replaced the Deck Belt on my Toro LX420 riding mower. Went through all the steps and everything was pretty easy. I got the deck hooked back and the last thing I need to do reattach the PTO spring. My problem is that I can't get the hook on the end of the spring through the small hole. I've tried and tried. I can't get the spring to bend enough so that I can get the hook at an angle in order for it to slip through. It's driving me crazy!!
Can anyone help?? PLEASE!
Thanks in advance!
just grab it with a good pair of pliars and pull hard. you may just need to find somebody stronger!
I have a Toro tractor, 46" deck, 3 blades.
center blade is a little smaller than the 2 outer blades.
I took them off sharpened them and now left wondering if there is a specific way to put them back on.
I have them on now in a sychronized fashion.
Outer blades slanted like the letter W opposite each other.
And the center blade mounted so that the 2 outer blades when rotated, DON'T come end to end with the center balde at any point.
I did this for fear that if a rock got sucked up and the 2 ends of the blade came together, the rock would jam the blades and break something.
As it is now, the ends of the blades when rotating don't ever come near each other.
But the problem I am seeing on the lawn is a thin streak of uncut grass on each pass.
The blades are on correctly, but my question might be confusing.
It is the position or angle of the blades
relative to one another.
Rule #1 - when you take something strange apart, note on a piece of paper what you removed and in which order. Man- it will save you so much time and worry.
Toro Leaf Blower » Blog Archive » Sharpening Mower Blades
Sharp blades give a sharp appearance to your lawn. By the same token, dull mower blades leave your lawn looking shaggy and poorly cared for.
How can you tell if your lawnmower is clipping your grass properly? Here’s a simple test; after you have finished mowing, bend down and pluck a few blades of the grass for a close-up examination. If your mower blade is sharp, the cut edge of the grass will appear evenly sheared as if it had been cut straight across with a pair of scissors; if the cut edge is uneven and jagged, the blade is not adequately sharpened and is actually tearing off the top of the grass blades rather than cutting them.
What are the negative effects of tearing rather than cutting the grass? Appearance and health; first of all, the top edges of the torn grass will quickly turn brown as the moisture dries from the damaged part of the grass blades. This damage will weaken the grass plants and make them more susceptible to disease. Imagine what the result would be if you used a stick to knock off the tender new growth of an azalea, boxwood, or other shrub in order to prune it back, shape it, or control its growth! This is what a dull lawnmower blade does to your millions of tiny tender grass plants.
