cub cadet zero turn lawn mower

What's a reasonable price for a non-running 2005 Cub Cadet SRC-621 walk-behind lawn mower? MSRP $549?
13/365

I have a Cub Cadet SRC-621 walk-behind mower that was purchased new in 2005. It stopped running in the middle of mowing this week, had used it 3 times so far this year w/o problems. Turn-around time for mower repair is 4-6 wks at this time of year, so I've chosen to replace it rather than pursue having it diagnosed and/or repaired.

Mower has history of several repairs in the past 4 years: head gasket in 06 (warranty repair) and crankshaft and end of season 08, and at least one breakdown in between that necessitated taking it to repair shop, but I can't remember the specific issue.

Here's some specs on this model: 6.5 Hp Kawasaki OHV engine, self-propelled, 6-speed transmission, rear-wheel drive, zero-turn radius.

What is a reasonable price to put on this non-running mower as-is to someone for parts or as a repair project?

who wants to buy a nonrunnning mower except someone who can fix it & turn it around for a quick profit? with that in mind, they wont pay much...better to get it fixed and keep it as a spare, or if space is a problem, sell it as running...

Where are the grease fittings in a Cub Cadet RZT 50"?

I can't find the grease fittings for the mower deck. I did find the two that were on the front two wheels. I looked in the owner's manual and online and can't seem to find the answer.

Any help would be appreciated.

This is the lawn mower

if I am correct u don't have any for the deck spindles and may b one on the deck belt idler pulley arm. most manufactures do not put grease Zerk's on decks anymore cuz they r using double sealed bearings and in theory no dirt should get in or out. (yeah right). yr lucky to have them on yr caster wheels most comp don't even put them there anymore either.

I need help how do you start a lawn mower?

Hi I know this might be an easy question for some but I am 19 and a girl. I have never started a mower before. I am watching my parents house for them while they are on vacation. I want to mow the lawn for my dad. He has a Cub Cadet commercial mower. I tried to find the manual online but it doesn't have a model plate anymore so I don't know the model or serial number. Its a ride on mower I think its a zero turn or something (the kind with the two handles)
I know where the brake is and the key and it has gas
i thought i could just release the brake and turn the key
but obviously not
please help me lol

You have two handles for steering that can be very tricky until you learn how it feels. Starting? look it over it should have a choke pull it out or turn it or what ever to full. Assuming you have a full tank of gas. If it is electric start I assume it is then turn the key and start it. As soon as it starts push the choke towards open slowly until engine warms up then you can open choke all the way. Ow yes before you try to star it make sure it is in neutral so it doesn't take off with you until you are ready. Start by putting it in low or first gear and let the clutch out slowly. When you feel comfortable steering going real slow then you can go to higher gear. But be very care-full of that type of steering.
Then you have to engage the mower Deck. This is not an easy Mower to operate so be very carefull.

I'm having a tough time deciding in choosing a lawn mower. Can you please help?

Toro - 19 horse power Koedler engine
Cub Cadet - 19 horse power Koedler engine
Troy - 18.5 horse power Koedler engine
John Deer - 19 horse power Straggs engine
Lawn Boy - 19 horse power Honda engine

All lawn mowers are 42 inch cut zero turn radius and come from a major retailer like Lowe's and Home Depot. Is it better to purchase a lawn mower directly from the company dealer (ex. buy a John Deer from a John Deer dealer) and which one of these lawn mowers will be the most durable?

From my personal experience, I find the Briggs & Stratton and Honda the most reliable, with the Koedler doing well in third. Durability wise, nothing beats a John Deere.

Home Cheapo or Lower's are probably you best bet, unless you can get it direct cheaper from the manufacturer or dealer. It would take some comparison shopping. Usually around Father's day (upcoming) they offer some great deals on these in any of these places - check your newspaper circular for the best deal.

Also don't rule out "refurbed" if you are looking for a bargain - that is how I got my last mower for about 1/2 of what it retailed for normally...

Best Zero-turn Riding Lawn Mower | Riding Mowers amp; Lawn Tractors

The big advantage of the iSeries ZTT 42 is that it can turn on a dime -- so it leaves no circle of uncut grass at the end of turns (which means less trimming later). Unlike other zero-turn lawn mowers, the Cub Cadettractor is easier to learn to use since it has a regular steering wheel instead of two levers. It also slips less on sloping lawns – a problem with typical zero-turn lawn mowers. Tests show the 42-inch ZTT 42 doesn't mulch clippings as well as the John Deere X304 above, but bags them as well and side-discharges better. The main drawback is that Cub Cadet lawn tractors have a spottier repair record and a much shorter warranty of three years or 120 hours.
